Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft mbH is an Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) licensed under German law and subject to supervision of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
Through our branches in Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Spain, we operate far beyond the German-speaking market and maintain an international industry network.
As a licensed AIFM for domestic investment assets, EU UCITS, EU AIF or foreign AIF, we offer tailor-made fund vehicles and investment solutions according to individual needs of investors. Our range of services includes inter alia the portfolio management, risk management, asset management, structuring, valuation and reporting services.

Supervisory Board
Helmut Merkel
Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Helmut Merkel is responsible for monitoring and advising the management of the AIFM, Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft mbH.
He was appointed to the Supervisory Board in 2016 and has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2017. Helmut Merkel has been practicing law since 1987 and works as an independent lawyer. Previously, he was General Counsel of the former Dresdner Bank AG.
Helmut Merkel graduated in law from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. He received his doctorate from the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
Michael J.W. Dröge
Member of the supervisory board
Michael Dröge is responsible for supervising the management board of AIFM, Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft mbH.
He has been appointed to the supervisory board in 2017. Besides this mandate, he is also member of various boards of directors of the investment funds managed by Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft mbH. Michael Dröge has been working as a lawyer since 1999 and is partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Hamburg.
He completed an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank AG and holds a degree in law from Georg-August-University Göttingen. Michael Dröge was awarded a doctorate in law by the Georg-August-University Göttingen.
Markus C. Slevogt
Member of the supervisory board
Markus C. Slevogt studied Economics and Business Administration at the Universities of Kent and Marburg. At the latter he also received his doctorate in Bank Management.
Mr. Slevogt was Senior Country Representative of Deutsche Bank AG in Turkey and ING Bank Turkey’s Managing Director of Wealth Management. He held board mandates at Türk Demir Döküm, BSH Turkey, Organik Holding and Erciyas Group.
Today, he is Board Member at Amarkon Group, Akçansa A.Ş. and Assistant Professor at Bahçeşehir University.
